THE ART OF ANCESTORS
“MADE BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE”
"Defined by culture, tradition and ancient techniques." Rebecca Manners
An ever evolving Limited Edition purpose-driven collection bridging worlds - connecting masters and clients through our tailor made experience.
We believe in a circular economy whereby every part of the process supports the people of Sumba by ensuring that we only source and buy in naturally dyed authentic Ikat textiles direct from the indigenous communities and then donate 5% of the proceeds to the Sumba Foundation to support children though education.
The collectible wearable art collection is a celebration of ancestral craft and indigenous wisdom to preserve ancient traditions whilst supporting livelihoods and giving hope for the youth of Sumba.
Each Ikat textile is One of a Kind therefore every piece is unique and custom made to size. The Ikat textiles are hand made in East Sumba. The motifs symbolise beauty and friendship within their beliefs and used in ceremony. For each one of the textile around 5-7 people work on it at the same time, dying the textile several times to get it’s vibrant colours before hand-looming the threads.
Travel with us to the Far East and dive into our Bespoke Experience to custom make your Wearable Ikat textile, authentically and transparently hand-made as we guide you through the whole process with 3 easy steps.
